چکیده
Exploring alternative freshwater resources other than those surrounding the Nile is critical to disperse Egypt’s population uninhabited desert areas. This study aims locate groundwater potential zones (GWPZs) in water-scarce between Qina and Safga-Bir Queh regions build wells, thereby attracting supporting people’s demand for water, food, urban development. Multi-criteria evaluation (MCE) analytical hierarchical process (AHP) techniques based on remote sensing (RS) Geographic Information System (GIS) were used map GWPZs. The outcome of GWPZs was divided into six different classes. High very-high aquifer recharge potentials localized middle western parts, spanning 19.3% 17% (16.4% 15.7%) by MCE (AHP). Low very low distributed randomly eastern part over an area 29% 14.3% (26.9% 6.1%) Validation has been undertaken collected Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) with calculated GWPZs, indicating that highest lowest TDS concentrations most aquifers are correlated high potential, respectively. promising can be applied anywhere similar setups prospect management.

Mineral Exploration and Alteration Zone Mapping in Eastern Desert of Egypt Using Aster Data
This paper proposes a method to find gold deposits in the Eastern Desert of Egypt. Different methods including various classification methods, principle component transform (PCT), band ratios, and a constrained energy minimization technique are evaluated for their performance for hydrothermal alteration zone mapping. First, these techniques are carried out to highlight known gold deposits over ...
متن کاملKarstification Potential Mapping in Northeast of Khuzestan Province, Iran, using Fuzzy Logic and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) techniques
The primary objective of the current study is to produce karstification potentiality maps in northeast of Khuzestan province, Iran, using both fuzzy logic and AHP models as an additional tool in hydrogeological research. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) are used to create two maps depicting the development of the karstification, consisting of five classes, showing th...
متن کاملMapping of groundwater potential zones in Killinochi area, Sri Lanka, using GIS and remote sensing techniques
Groundwater is a vital natural capital for the consistent and economic provision of potable water supply for both rural and urban environments. There is now a strong consensus that climate change poses a fundamental challenge to the well-being of all countries, with potential of being the harshest on countries already suffering from water scarcity. Dry zone of Killinochi basin in Northern Sri L...
متن کاملStructural and tectonic evolution of the Umm Gheig/ El-Shush region, central Eastern Desert of Egypt
The rocks of the Wadi Umm Gheig/El-Shush area in the central Eastern Desert of Egypt form part of the Nubian Shield, a component of the Neoproterozoic Pan-African Orogeny. The rocks have been divided into three units: (i) low-grade metamorphosed rocks, which consist of metavolcanic rocks interleaved with slices of ophiolitic melange; (ii) high-grade metamorphic rocks, which consist of syn-tecto...
متن کاملPan-African granite emplacement mechanisms in the Eastern Desert, Egypt
The late Pan-African Fawakhir, Urn Had and Urn Effein Granite Plutons in the Egyptian Central Eastern Desert are small, elongate to circular bodies of pink monzogranite and syenogranite, and grey monzodiorite. Structural investigation of the intrusive contacts of these plutons reveals marginal sub-horizontal intrusive sheets as magma injection along preexisting flat-lying structures including m...
